A dark green pear, with a roundish shape and a sweet and pasty taste is produced in Agerola, its name is “pera pennata”. It grows on a very vigorous plant that can be found in mixed groves and it ripens in August –September; it is a strongly localized ecotype that is found in family owned groves, sustaining also the local market. It is considered one of the best pear ecotypes of Campania.
