The Castagna di Agerola  also known as Palummella is a vigorous plant that germinates in May and flowers in June producing chestnuts that will be considered ripe between September and October. The husk is of big dimension, a light color and it contains two or three brown reddish fruits, with evident stripes and filled with a white pulp that has a sweet taste. The fruits, can be consumed fresh or become an essential ingredient of numerous cake recipes of the local tradition
